What you do

Fight

Each depth starts with a wave of ghost knights: swordsmen, archers and shield knights. Slash, spin and cut their arrows out of the air.

Beat a boss

Every depth ends with a boss whose attacks show a warning first. Learn the pattern, dodge, strike. Bosses repeat in a cycle and get tougher each time.

Solve and rest

Between fights you may meet a special level: torches, mirrors, keys and arrows. A healing room gives you a breather before the boss.

Grow stronger

Pick one of three upgrades after every boss. Earn Umbra and buy permanent upgrades in the Hall. Unlock new weapons by beating bosses.

Frequently asked questions

What is Nrisca?

Nrisca is a retro LCD roguelike. You play a knight on one fixed screen with a green-and-black LCD look, slash ghost knights, beat a boss at every depth, solve torch puzzles and pick upgrades. When you die the run ends and you start again from depth 1.

Is Nrisca free to play?

Yes. You can play it free in your browser at nrisca.pages.dev. There are no ads. Umbra, the in-game currency, is earned by playing.

Which platforms does Nrisca run on?

The browser version works today on phone and PC. Android and Windows builds are in preparation, and store pages will be linked here when they go live.

Is Nrisca like Brick Game 9999 in 1 or Tank Classic?

It is inspired by the look of 90s brick game handhelds: one fixed screen, square LCD pixels, a stick and one button. The game itself is an action roguelike with bosses, upgrades and permanent progress.
