Greatsword

The greatsword is the heavy weapon in Nrisca. It reaches far and staggers shield knights, but each swing commits you.

When to use the greatsword

• Against shield knights. They have the most poise, and poise damage 4 breaks it fastest.
• When you want to hit enemies from farther away.
• When you can plan each swing. A slow swing leaves you open if you miss.

Weak points

The swing is 35% slower than the sword. Do not swing when an attack is about to land. Dodge first, then swing in the opening. Bosses have no poise, so the heavy poise damage matters only against ghosts. See all weapons for the full table.
